One Step Closer

We have completed another step in our home renovation. Scott installed a laminate wood flooring in the laundry room area. He and Tim worked on it Sunday and Monday and it looks really great. We don't have the quarter round down yet, but that should be happening in the next few days.

I wish I could say that I have tons of photos to show you, but we really have a hard time keeping track of that blasted camera, and so it is missing again. As soon as I find it I will be posting pictures, I promise!

My next goals for in the basement are to paint the back wall, which is a very poopy brown at the moment, and it clashes horribly with our new floors. We also need to finish installing the dryer, so I can start washing clothes. That is what I am most excited about, finally having a washer and dryer in my house. Now if only I could get a refrigerator... but that is still a few weeks away from being delivered.

In other exciting news, my mom informed me that the wedding invitations have arrived. This means that Scott and I need to be heading home soon, so we can get thejm ready to be sent out. It also turns out that my mom made the reservations for the dance floor, tent, chairs, tables, and linens. Things are really coming together for the wedding. Now we need to get a photographer and videographer and DJ, and we'll pretty much be done! Right?

So tonight will be spent with moving goodness as we try to relocate Scott and all of his wordly possessions. I swear, you open a door in his current place and stuff comes crashing down on top of you. He probably has at least four times as much stuff as I do, which is understandable because a lot of it is computer related, but still... there will be no room left in our home once he moves in. And he is definitely not interested in the prospect of throwing anything away. I guess I'm going to have to start secretly weeding through his stuff. I'm sure he'll never even notice.

And with that said, I am off. But I shall leave you with some entertainment-- the spotlighted video on Google from YouTube. It makes me smile.

Viewer beware: the choreography will lead to copious amounts of laughter... and confusion (along with the two men, the llama, and the dogs?).

(In case you can't understand the words, here is a taste of the lyrics, haha)

When the child was just a child
It did not know what it was
Like a child it had no habits
No opinion about anything

Maybe I will get a job
Get a job as a waitress
Maybe waiting tables in a diner
In some remote city down the highway

After all that we've been through
I know we'll make it after the wait
The question is a truth
There is nothing we can't do
I'll see you along the way baby
The stillness is the move

On top of every mountain
There was a great longing
For another even higher mountain
In each city longing for a bigger city

  1. I'm not sure if I should be laughing the entire time or singing along.... Oh well; either way, I like it!
