Furtastic

Masen is going to be five months on Saturday... time is flying by with this little guy! Soon he is going to be crawling, and then walking, and then going off to college! Okay, so that may be me getting a little carried away, but everything is happening so fast with him!

My favorite new thing that he does is show an increased interest in animals. Whenever he sees Ramona walk by, he leans towards her with outstretched arms, and his mouth in a little "O" shape. And when I finally persuade her to come close, he wraps his arms around her neck, digs his little fingers into her fur, and tries to bite her... haha, so that may be a little aggressive on his part, but he has the biggest smile on his face! And thankfully Ramona is a very laid back cat, and she takes it all in stride.

He will also do the same with my parent's dogs, but I've only really let him give the lovins' to Sadie, which is such a 180 from how it was a few years back. She used to be the snappy dog, but has really mellowed out (I thank my nieces for finally breaking her to having small children around, haha), and now she takes Masen's fur pulling with quiet patience. The other dogs, Maggie and Romy, are well-behaved, but little Romy licks too much, and Maggie has balance issues, so she is a bit unstable and jittery sometimes. But Masen is fascinated by all three of them, and loves to watch them run and play... it's so cute!

One thing that Scott and I have been waiting and watching for is the big rollover... Masen accomplished the front to back roll at the beginning of January, but hasn't really done it much since then. Now we are waiting for the back to front. He gets to his side, but doesn't seem all that intent on going all the way. I think it mostly comes from his disdain of being on his stomach. We're not worried though, because really milestones vary so much for children, and he'll figure it out eventually in his own time.

Ha! Another blog post written! I had to push myself a bit to finally get this done... one day blogging is going to come easily to me!
