Sicky

Masen has been a little sicky the last few days. It started Wednesday morning around 4:00AM. He woke up feeling quite hot to the touch, so I gave him some infant ibuprofen to help bring down his temperature. The next morning he was 102.1, and  Scott and I decided to take him to the doctor, thinking he probably had gotten an ear infection from his last cold. Thankfully that was not the case, and his ears were fine, but his throat was a different story. The doctor swabbed his throat to test for strep, and it came back negative, so we are thinking it is just a bit of random sickness, and it just needs to run its course.

This means the last few days have been a bit rough, with a whiny, unhappy little Mae, who only wants to have his every desire met, which means walking around the house as he points to different things he would like to examine. He hasn't been eating as much, and hasn't been keen on drinking (thankfully he still nurses, or he would be in all kinds of trouble with staying hydrated). He still enjoys potato chips and marshmallows, and will take an occasional bite of a chicken nugget. Oddly enough he has refused the ice cream and popsicles that the doctor suggested we give along with soup (the soup being denied is not quite as odd), so we are doing the best we can, with what we have.

All in all, Scott and I are exhausted, and if it weren't for the fact that I just recently got home from work, I would have been in bed a long time ago. Which I think is where I am headed right now.
