Today I took Masen to the doctor because he was pulling on his ear... it only happened once, but we just got over an ear infection a few weeks ago, and he has had a cold for the last few days, so in we went. And lo and behold... another ear infection. Ugh... another ten days of antibiotics, which no one in our household appreciates.
We also brought in Masen's "new to him" slide. It has just been so rainy and cold the last few days, and he was in need of something big to climb on inside. His original favorite indoor climbing apparatus has been the stairs, which he has gotten very good at after much coaching from Daddy. He knows how to turn around at the top of the stairs, and go down sort of like how he goes up... with belly toward the stairs. He can do this for what seems like pretty much forever, and he cries like there is no tomorrow when I put back up the baby gate. But unlike our delayed exodus from Kid's Cove, Mommy does not waiver with the baby gate, or else it would never go back up, and I get to make decisions at some point, right?
Anyway, back to the slide... it brought a big ole smile to little Mae's face to see that slide coming through the door. He crawled up the little plastic ladder as fast as he could, and immediately decided to go hands and head down first, which is a move I taught him while the slide was still outside. After all, it is the easiest way for him to go, so he doesn't have to worry about getting his feet all situated in front of him. He was in heaven, and I have no idea what I am going to do tomorrow when that is all that he wants to do... I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Also, on the ole home front, we are finally hanging pictures on our walls! We have lived in this house for 2 1/2 years, and I have only managed to get Scott to hang one collage photo frame (and that only just happened this summer)... it's been looking kind of lonely hanging up there all by itself. I've had the other pictures all ready in their frames, and now it is finally happening! Pictures on the walls makes me oh so very happy!
And you may be wondering why I haven't just hung them myself? After all, I am fully capable of putting nails in the wall, but to tell you the truth, it makes me super nervous. I am too much of a perfectionist, and it's much easier to praise my husband's work, then to nitpick at my own. So there you have it!
