This world keeps on spinning...

It's been so hard for me to want to update... I've been having a hard time moving on from my last post. Every time I read it, I felt like it was still so true (and I still feel that way), but I figured that I needed to update on my life again, so here I am!

Things have been interesting with my pregnancy to say the least. I'm learning to love my ever growing belly... still working on trying to get in enough calories and calcium in a day. It's been hard to eat a lot with all of the indigestion and heartburn I've been getting. Who wants to eat when it feels like lava is flowing up their throat after the first bite? It doesn't happen every day, mainly when I'm at work and sitting for long periods of time. Especially when I feel stressed, which is almost always, haha.

We also found out what we're having. We weren't suppose to find out until the 22nd week, but I got panicky about some cramps, and they did an ultrasound to check and see that everything was okay (which it was), and so we found out far earlier than we ever expected (I wasn't even 17 weeks yet).

So we know... it's a boy. I knew before the technician even told me. It was pretty obvious. We're so excited... we don't have any boys in our family (at least on the Leitch side), so this little guy will be the first. I'm a little sad to not be having a girl, but I am happy all the same. It will be an adventure! We've even started our registry. We have three so far, haha. We started at Target, and then went over to Burlington, and I've added a few items from Babies R' Us. I had to do something to get my mind more boy-oriented, and it helped a lot! So much fun!

We've also figured out where we will be moving when we make it back to Maryland... after much debate, and discussion, and measuring, and planning, we have decided to take up my parents' offer and reconvert the office back into a house. Whew, it is going to be a huge job! We have to first relocate the contents of the marina's store, which is also in the office, which means we need to empty a place for it to all go. Its first stop will be my parents' basement, where it shall sit until we get the big shop ready to be a store/office/more functional workspace. It's a big job there too, but I think it will all work out.

After the relocation of everything, it will be time to renovate. Since the original bathroom and 2nd bedroom were converted into the marina's public shower/bathrooms, there is currently no toilet or tub in the house. And since I have absolutely no desire to use the public bathrooms, we are going to build our own... wow, it is going to be a big task, but Scott and my dad seem up to the challenge (even a little excited about it, haha).

We also have to completely rebuild the kitchen, and we have a lot of restoration that needs to be done to the one bedroom (yes, only one) and living room. And since this building was built forever ago, it is right against the property line, and right behind it on the other side of the property line is a shed, so the whole back half of the house has no windows. We are thinking that we are going to put in a skylight in the kitchen area, plus open up the doorway between the living room and the kitchen (we love to tear down walls) to allow more light into the back of the house. Thankfully the bedroom has at least one window, and the bathroom will have one too, haha.

It is so much work, and I get overwhelmed sometimes just thinking about it, but my parents are being very gracious to us, and even with the cost of repairs it will still save us money over renting. It will mean a slightly longer commute for Scott, but he says he'll be okay, and all I can do is trust him and support him as best as I can.

And the final bit of good news, Scott finally got his security paperwork turned in, and approved. He has his polygraph test coming up rather quickly (this Thursday), and I am so excited for him. When he told me today that they had an opening become available for him, I was beyond ecstatic! It just means we need to start on the house a little more quickly.

So there it is... I have two more things that I just thought of, but I will save those for a later date. They aren't as upbeat and happy... but they are a little laughable. I'm just too tired to go on for right now. It is definitely time for bed... night!
